So my husband and I never try new places that often, especially those that are on the pricier side. But WOW! I got a strawberry mix drink that was absolutely perfect- blended extremely well, the corn fritters which has a beautifully smoked campfire flavor and the blackened catfish. I've never tried catfish and it was amazing. It sat upon corn chowder and hush puppies surrounded it and they were on the smaller side but burst with amazing flavor. 1,000% would go back. Absolutely fell in love with the place! Can't stress how great it is enough!
I come for the Mess Burger on a regular basis. There's a lot of competition in LA when it comes to finding a good burger, but Messhall's is a top contender. Pairing it with one of their penicillin cocktails won't go awry either!
I had this during Dine LA week along with the smoked shrimp cocktail. It was a really great dinner. The pork belly and the grits are delicious. I'm usually really picky about how my collard greens are cooked but these were perfect!!
This is a great turkey burger! It's always juicy & the cheddar and dressing really make it special. The fries are always delicious too!
I love coming to happy hour at Messhall for fresh oysters! There is always a good selection and the oysters are always fresh and delicious. $1 oysters on Tuesdays are the best thing ever!!
I'm a huge fan of fried chicken and this is one of the best sandwiches I've had in LA. The chicken is juicy and delicious and the fixings are perfectly paired to create a mouth watering combo fixed between a delicious bun.
The ribs were perfectly seasoned and fell right off the bone! I've been craving them ever since and will surely be back.
Oh my gosh, this benny is absolute heaven! Beautiful setting and fabulous staff make this my go to in the neighborhood!
my all time fav
delicious. the ham added flavor to it, the portion is pretty decent too.
Love the baby back ribs & accompaniments!
This is my brunch spot to meet friends! All the food is excellent, so is the service and love the vibe of the place. Some of my favorite dishes are the breakfast sando and the griddle cakes. Mimosa and mini cafes of iced tea at your table make everything perfect. And I love that some of the breakfast items are on the lunch menu too during the week! #bigfan
MESSHALL's fresh oyster game is strong. Salty or sweet they've got you covered. How much would you pay for a tasty shucked oyster? $3 bucks? $4?! What if I said one freaking dollar on Tuesday nights? At that price I'd start at 12 and let the sea carry you away from there.
Messhall makes a great Old Fashioned!!
The Mess Burger is probably one of my favorite things on the menu. I've ordered it many times and it's always big, juicy, and delicious. The cheese & the sauce are so good and the fries are perfect. I'm always full and happy after a Mess Burger!
Tasty and surprisingly filling, with good amounts of chicken, bacon, avocado, etc. Our table ordered three of them and our waiter was happy to make modifications to 2 of the 3. I'll be back to try that Mess Burger, but the cobb was great for a lighter night!
I am absolutely obsessed with this drink. I joke that they should rename it "the Shannon". Although the food at Messhall is delicious, the Amanda is the one thing I have to have every time I come in. I wasn't sure what drink to order the first time I came in, so I told our server what I liked and he chose the Amanda for me. I love spicy food so being able to enjoy a drink that has a kick to it is perfect for me. I'm normally not a huge pineapple juice fan, but the ratio of the cilantro/serrano-infused vodka with pineapple juice and lime is perfect. It's not too sweet and not too overpowering. It's the perfect mix, which means you can enjoy a few... for better or worse. :)
This is my go to salad. It has all my favorites except the egg. The rotisserie chicken is to die for. Great to eat as a meal or share with roasted artichoke and Mac n cheese. Yummy meal!!!
So good! A great take on a southern classic.
